Emirates Post Group organises Innovation Week activities

Emirates Post launched the activities of the 2nd UAE Innovation Week under the slogan 'Innovation is an everyday practice' at its head office in Umm Ramool, Dubai, attended by the EPG Board members.

The UAE Innovation Week, which takes place from November 20 to 26, is an extension of the directive of the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan declaring 2015 as the Year of Innovation, and the declaration by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President & Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, of the Innovation Week in November 2015, as well as the launch of the national strategy for innovation in October 2014.

EPG has organized a series of events and activities, including the 'effectiveness of the superior thinker', a weeklong workshop for employees of the Group. EPG also inaugurated an exhibition on innovation featuring staff projects, including the "news tickers" project and the smart car entry that simulates the "Salik" system, in addition to the use of community outreach in solving technical problems and a number of other ambitious projects.

On this occasion, EPG's Acting CEO Mr. Abdulla Alashram remarked that innovation is an everyday practice and a way of life, which will help the Group to spread the spirit of innovation and create a stimulating environment for innovation, in order to make the UAE one of the best countries in the world in this field.

"Emirates Post Group is very pleased to join the Innovation Week celebrations through a host of unique events," Mr Alashram said. "These activities reflect EPG's pioneering adoption of new technologies in the fields of mail sorting, counter services and back office support. We are sure this event will motivate our employees to innovate more and more in their day to day work."
