Emirates Post introduces school kids from The French School to postal services

Emirates Post Group welcomed the first batch of primary school children from The French School to view postal operations in Ramool Sorting Centre and understand the working of mail delivery system, as part of its CSR activities.

The first group of 24 six-year-olds from Dubai French School, accompanied by five teachers, was welcomed by EPG Chief of Postal Operations Affairs Mr. Sultan Al Midfa and Emirates Post CEO Mr. Abdullah Alashram.

The children visited the Ramool Post Office where they bought stamps at the counter and later put them on envelopes and dropped their letters in a post box. They also toured the Ramool Sorting Centre where they learnt how letters and parcels are segregated and sent for delivery.

EPG Chief Commercial Officer Mr. Ibrahim Bin Karam said Emirates Post was proud to welcome school students and teachers as part of educational tours. "These tours help students view at first hand the postal operations and the automated sorting systems. Our relationship with the schools stems from corporate social responsibility. We would like to encourage more school students to benefit from this facility."

Emirates Post CEO Abdullah Alashram commented: "Emirates Post Group is always happy to welcome youngsters to our post offices and sorting centre, because this is the best way of providing first-hand knowledge of the postal system. The global postal system is one of the most efficiently run operations and cover every part of the world. We welcome UAE schools to visit us and learn about the postal system."

EPG runs a year-round program in which students from public and private schools are invited to view postal operations and mail sorting systems. The visits are conducted at Ramool Sorting Centre, Dubai Central Post Office, as well as main offices in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al-Quwain, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah.

Apart from welcoming students to post offices and sorting centres, Emirates Post teams also visit schools across the UAE to hold exhibitions of UAE stamps and explain to them the hobby of collecting stamps.
